Item UMN9

s/n ? no serial number, this recorder must have been stolen at sometime in it's life, and has some damage

With shoulder strap fixing screw, a copy of Instruction manual, pilot link plug, mono to stereo jack adapter and a new roll of tape that was used to line up the recorder, now has 1 & 8K at -8dB test frequency, and some music to test the playback,

The machine has the following features:
Two microphone inputs 50 or 200 Ohm Dynamic, a line input on banana plugs or the 6 pin Tuchel ASS socket, It has Direct or off Tape monitoring and metering, Monitoring selector with monitor speaker and level control, Manual or Automatic headphone monitoring with level control, it has 1 & 2 high pass and 1&2 LAF low freq attenuation filters, 3 Taps speeds- 38, 19, 9.5cm/s (15-7.5-3.75ips). 50 Hz strobe roller, Reference generator set a -8dB, manual recording level, Low Frequency Attenuation, Metering of Battery and Pilot level. Silicon rubber pinch wheel and drive belts, it is a full pilot recorder with pilot link fitted, and it has a removable Perspex lid, you can run 7" tape spools with the lid open or removed. It also has a nice clean battery compartment but the battery box cover has corrosion

This is a full track mono recorder CCIR recorder, the 50 or 60 Hz Pilot sync has not had the circuit bards fitted

BELOW RIGHT, See pilot link plug socket , above the pilot link socket and handle fixing screw are the two large case opening screws, please note; only unscrew 3 or 4 turn do not take right out, or parts could fall into the recorder, so switch off before opening.

ABOVE LEFT, Two microphone inputs 3 pin XLR socket , Line Input on a ACC socket is a 6 pin Tuchel plug or 4 mm banana plugs. The VOL is the playback level control, next to the handle fixing screw

ABOVE RIGHT, The 4 mm banana sockets are 4.4 volts output at 600 ohm if you feed this output to a Stereo Nagra you must use the QCSE lead or a copy with a 47K ohm pad. Or use the 7 pin MIXER socket that has a Playback or Direct output, leads can be made to order. For the POWER PACK, you can use the 24 volts ATN power supply, the 35 volts ATN 2 or ATN 3 power supplies, or the UAP11 power supply on main page,

The back of the recorder has no sign of damage and the lift off lid hinges are in good working order

Above Left, The battery box is in good order but the lid has bad battery corrosion.

Above Right, Tape head are good condition and it has a new pinch wheel.

No head loss adjustment was needed when lining up the tape bias EQ and playback, this recorder is set up for SM911 & LPR35 that I have selected as closest to AGFA 468 or 368, Zonal 468 / 368 and BASF 468 or 368,

Above is the repair to the damaged hinge and above right is the damage to the Nagra, but you can still open the Nagra and it has no effect on the working of the Nagra.

BELOW RIGHT the two Dynamic Microphone pre-amps are behind the meter, ON THE BATTERY BOX, This Recorder is not fitted with a Nagra 50/60Hz Crystal Pilot Generator, so it will not work on pilot sync, but if you need to run the Nagra in sync with a camera, I can fit a pilot generator and pilot link plug but it would not be included in the price.

The recorder works from 12 x U2 batteries or external ATN mains supply (not included) see assessors 2 for power supplies

Nagra is the best reel-to-reel tape recorder ever made with the best of Swiss engineering that you are never likely to see again.
One of the joys of owning a Nagra is that it is an all in one over the shoulder recorder and when you switch it on you know it's going to work and give you a professional quality recording in any conditions.

Please note: -The Perspex lid and the labels has some scratches
